Suzie-Q is a 7 month old "Pacific Parrotlet". She's about 5" tall and weighs less then an ounce. She comes from a species of parrots considered to be the smallest in the world. Her natural habitat is the western part Ecuador and north-western Peru, but her birthplace was actually here in Southern California. Suzie came to use from the nice folks at "Birds & More", located  in Torrance, California. Suzie's best friend in all the world, besides her human, is "Pretty Girl", a yellow striped Parakeet. They spend each day next to one another and Suzie just loves to show off for both PG and her Grand Ma Ma. (She was a bit camera shy for the photos though . . .)

" . . . Pacific Parrotlets are boundless energy, intelligence, curiosity, and fearlessness wrapped up in a small feathered body weighing no more than 28 to 32 grams. They are a true little Parrot, the Amazon is their nearest relative. They can learn to talk but are unable to scream, which makes them an excellent pet bird for people living in apartments and condominiums, who must keep noise to a minimum. They are happy, active birds, and make excellent pets. They learn quickly, but like a 2 year old will try to get away with everything they can. They are such intelligent, active, loving little birds with fearless big bird attitudes . . . "
